USHIN-SHOWA NX-7680L Cylinder @WEST Act rim lock lock failure repair

"I move in today, but it doesn't lock."

I'm requesting repair of a defective lock, but I'm just wondering what kind of management this trouble is doing when I move in today.

The cylinder seems to have been replaced with moving in. Dimple key NX cylinder (7680L lever type) engraved with SHOWA.However, there is a WEST carved seal on the lock that can be seen from the outside.Nothing is displayed on the body of the indoor side.

Judging from the handle type, it looks like a WEST Act lock, but the shape of the thumbturn is also different.Originally it was a knurled thumbturn. The rugby ball type should be SHOWA or MIWA PMK type.

I didn't know there was a SHOWA cylinder with a large opening.

In the first place, the dimple cylinder for the current WEST act lock has WEST917-G7510 (for act lever) cylinder (with dedicated long seat escutcheon). Also, the size of the hole for the cylinder head opening on the elongated plate is completely different. The hole should be smaller and should have two fixing screws, but I can't see them.

The long escutcheon also has the WEST carved seal, but it is not secured with screws.I've never seen it before.

In any case, the first priority is to solve the cause of the defect.Upon further investigation, it turned out that the cause was that the deadbolt did not enter the strike at all.

It is not considered to be aging deterioration. Therefore, it is considered to be an early failure, but this property is an old apartment 30 years old. Therefore, the reason is unknown. (The latch bolt was also misaligned.)

However, even if you adjust it, the rim lock and strike parts are completely unadjustable. It doesn't look like the hinge is deformed or the door is distorted, so there's nothing I can do about it.

As an additional work, it is necessary to shave the strike, but this time it will be an emergency process.

Looking on the WEB, it seems that it is an OEM product (discontinued) of WEST + SHOWA for NATIONAL housing. It's a complicated product, and I couldn't find it right away.

As a current product,SHOWA NX-7680L lever lock (NX cylinder specification)(Select door thickness 36/40 mm).In addition, there seems to be a cylinder for WEST917-7680L (for door thickness 36 mm) as a replacement.

What I have to stop here is that I also need to consider the thickness of the long seat escutcheon and the thickness of the main body packing. The strike position is embedded and cannot be adjusted, so packing on the main body side is required. About 4-5 mm will be thicker than the door thickness.
