Locking failure of MIWA LE-11 thumb-latch decorative lock

"Sometimes one key doesn't close"

It was an antique MIWA lock, and it was a rare lock with two integrated cylinders at the top and bottom. (I couldn't find the exact model number after looking it up.)

The cause of the locking failure was complex.

If I looked closely around the door, I found that a fairly thick rubber door gasket has been added. For this reason, the relative position with the strike was shifted.

Moreover, there was a part where the door packing hindered the closing of the door.

Also, there was a washer sandwiched between the hinges at the top, and it looked like someone had made some adjustments, which caused distortion and interference between the door and the frame.

I have been able to adjust and improve each of these.

By the way, the locking direction of the lower auxiliary lock was reversed. It's a bad installation that the tubular is installed upside down. It's a mean construction, which contractor installed it.
