AGENT GMD500-MIWA HM, inspection and repair due to locking failure

"The key has been lost since this morning."

I think I moved in about a year ago.The AGENT's knob certainly didn't look old. About a week ago, things started to get worse, and this morning, he couldn't lock the door with the key at all.

It seemed to get worse over time. But from the thumbturn side it worked normally.

Certainly it will not turn even if it is operated from the cylinder side.I took it apart and inspected it.The structure is fairly simple. When I checked it, it turned quite stable, but suddenly it stopped turning.Cylinder cleaning doesn't fix it either.

Upon closer inspection, it was found that the defect phenomenon occurs depending on the orientation of the cylinder. It seems that there are times when it rotates and times when it does not rotate depending on the direction of gravity applied to the pin. This indicates that the spring is deformed and damaged and the pin is free.

When this happens, it is necessary to replace it as soon as possible, but the management company has decided to replace it independently in terms of cost. The cause is due to aged deterioration, but it is thought that the initial failure came out after one year. The operation has been temporarily restored, but I left the site to see how it was.

I've always thought that AGENT's knob had some issues with its durability, but this time I'm convinced.
