The cause was interference between the peeled door gasket, the door guard, and the door frame.The peeled off door gasket was fixed by putting it back together, but the door guard is attached to the door with strong double-sided tape.
If you try to remove it forcibly, it will likely affect the painted surface, so I was able to resolve this by cutting out a portion of the door gasket where it would interfere.
