It had WEST Act rim lock and 917 cylinder.That cylinder was wobbly inside.However, this ACT lock does not match the 917 cylinder, which has high security.

Looking at the thumbturn side, it is a rugby ball type similar to PMK made by MIWA.Common in National Housing apartments, but with a different thumbturn shape.I don't know which one is older than the knurled thumbturn, but the current product is screwed from the outer decorative long seat.

I took it apart anyway.

The cylinder cannot be installed unless the inner cover is removed, so work carefully so that the internal parts such as the spring do not fly out.

When the main body is removed, the cylinder fixing screw is completely loosened.Then something fell.Part of wiring wire.At first, I didn't understand why there was this foreign object, but after disassembling and reassembling it, I finally found out the meaning of the foreign object.

It was used instead of a spacer for thickness adjustment.It was a new cylinder that was replaced when moving in, but it was an event that occurred because it easily came off due to vibration.

WEST917 replacement (for SHOWA 917-7680KJ key replacement) is for DT36 mmwas. Not for DT40 mm.The ACT lock this time is 2mm thick for the escutcheon on the indoor side and 2mm thick for the long base on the outside, making it a total of 4mm shorter.

The correct replacement cylinder isUSHIN-SHOWA 7680KJ DT40mm (SCY-77 SCY77)However, it is a pin cylinder key, not a dimple key.

For dimple cylinders,USHIN-SHOWA NX-7680KJ Replacement Dimple Cylinder DT40mm (SCY-81 SCY81)becomes. (It is necessary to specify whether it is for DT36 mm or DT40 mm.)

When I removed the escutcheon on the indoor side and assembled it, the cylinder position was inconsistent with the decorative long seat on the outside, but the lever handle was rattling.I adjusted it with a spacer for the handle, but this time the positional relationship with the strike side is shifted.The deadbolt was out of alignment with the strike, making it impossible to lock.Strike position adjustment was impossible design.

In the end, a gap of about 1 mm will be visible, which is a bit unappealing, but this is the correct assembly.
