MIWA LE-11 Defective lock/unlock operation inspection and repair of the decorative lever lock

"The key is quite hard"

The target was a detached-style apartment. Quite rare, isn't it?

The lock on the front door was a MIWA LE-11+TESP decorative lever lock. The cylinder has already been replaced with WEST916, and it was said that there were times when it was so hard that I thought the key would break.

There was no defect in the operation of the cylinder alone. Poor position with strike?

When I checked it, it was confirmed that there was a misalignment in the vertical direction. As far as I can see the dirt, it seems that it was in this position from the time of construction.

The door may have warped due to age. There is interference with the deadbolt.

Move the strike up about 4mm. This has improved.

Since there is no discomfort in the cylinder or lock body, the work is complete.
