"Key only fits halfway"

It was a KAKEN Velwave key. It is a rare cylinder with an inner groove side bar mechanism. I often see it at home centers, but locksmiths don't often choose it.

I usually proceed with the cleaning work, but it was quite dirty. Come out come out, come out dirt. Carefully wash it for about 10 minutes and the first aid treatment is complete. If it recurs, the next step is replacement.
