MIWA RA.W916 Repair of door lock malfunction

"I lost my key from this morning."

Judging from the content of the request, is it a dirt on the cylinder or a misalignment of the strike? The apartment at the site is in front of a station on the Odakyu Line. It seems impossible to park on the street. Find a parking lot nearby. It takes about 5 minutes, but I found a cheaper place.

Well, there is a MIWA RA.W916 lock on the entrance door to be repaired.

When I heard the client's story, it was said that the key from the room was not locked, not the cylinder. Apparently it was a phenomenon that the deadbolt did not enter the strike. It is caused by interference of about 1 mm.

Strike alignment is fixed, so it only improved by a millimeter or so. This improved the position of the deadbolt on strike, but there was not enough room, so we will improve other causes.

The door had no door packing. A thick rubber about 5 mm was pasted on the edge of the door frame, probably by another contractor. This caused the strike and deadbolt to be misaligned relative to each other. Furthermore, there was a rubber spacer on the RA lock body. This rubber is also completely crushed and there is no point in using a spacer, so it was improved by replacing this rubber, and we were able to secure a margin of 1 mm or more between the deadbolt and the strike.
