SHOWA IX-AGENT GMD500, Repair of incorrect knob installation

"door knob not working"

Second visit to this property. It was said that Agent's dimple key was stuck and could not be removed.

Whether the movement of the knob was hard or not, there was a considerable sense of incongruity with the latch movement. Disassemble and check, but the spindle plate is fixed on the thumbturn side. Moreover, it is quite long compared to the thickness of the door. It doesn't even come with an escutcheon that should have come as standard. Not enough parts for anything.

But it can't be disassembled any further, and it's probably correct that it's attached to the thumbturn side. By also cleaning the cylinder, the cylinder side where the key did not come off was improved.

However, by screwing the thumbturn side knob to reassemble it, the latch will not move and the cylinder side will not return to the center position. After all, it is an event that the key cannot be removed. This is because the parts are interfering inside.

Either cut the spindle plate or add a t2.0 spacer for the door knob, but I chose the spacer this time. Improved results. It seems that it was left with improper part selection and improper adjustment by the installer. This is because the new product comes with an escutcheon for adjustment and other universal replacements.
