WEST801 Malfunction due to cylinder core collapse

"The lock won't close"

The property is over 50 years old, so everything is old. Apparently they signed a contract about 4 weeks ago and had the keys replaced. However, for some reason, he hasn't lived there yet, so the key has never been used until today when he entered the room.

When I arrived, I immediately noticed a caved-in cylinder core and a latch bolt that was still retracted. The door knob knob is a universal replacement knob for WEST801. (It was in such a condition that I couldn't believe it was replaced with a new product.)

When I disassembled it, there was evidence that the cylinder core had been removed and replaced. The retaining ring was incomplete. Moreover, there are many scratches near the keyhole.

In such cases, complete part replacement is the best option. The resident was not responsible, so I reported it to the management company, who arranged for the locksmith I work with to replace it immediately.
