MIWA U9.LE-01/TE-01, repair of auxiliary lock failure from indoors

"I can't lock the door with the knob from inside the room."

I was told that the internal key (thumbturn) could not be locked. I proceeded through the rather narrow streets of Tama Ward. It was a difficult road to find a parking spot.

The property in question is a fairly old 37-year-old property built on a cliff. Looking at the front door, we see that it has a MIWA thumb-latch decorative lock and an auxiliary lock with only an inner key, and the malfunctioning one is the tubular lock TE-01 on the upper side.

There are strong scratch marks on the bottom of the door frame. The latch bolt of the main lock and the dead bolt of the tubular lock are not in strike. I immediately adjusted the strike position, but there was a considerable gap between the door and the door frame, so it was difficult to adjust.

I managed to get the bolt into the strike by adjusting the hinge that someone had messed with, re-installing the missing screw, and adjusting the sheet metal of the convex part due to distortion on the bottom of the door frame.

Anything beyond this will require re-engraving and re-machining of the strike position and machining of a portion of the body. This work requires permission from the owner, so we decided not to do it this time. This is because the entire building is distorted due to ground subsidence. Intuitively, it looks like it has sunk by about 10mm.
