MIWA PATENT WEST916.MM, locked and unlocked due to thumbturn malfunction

"Thumbturn doesn't turn and I'm stuck."

There are people in the room, but the thumbturn seems to only turn halfway. I had a photo taken of the condition inside and showed it to me from the door post. It was my first time seeing this type.

Looking at the photo, there were two thumbturns. There's a thumbturn on the door knob, and there's also a thumbturn on the WEST916.MM type cylinder (I'm concerned that it's upside down), but it seems like it's only the thumbturn on the cylinder side. The thumbturn on the door knob doesn't seem to work for some reason.

Now, I had the thumbturn move from inside, but the strike visible through the gap only moved a little. It's not even caused by the door being distorted.

In this state, there is no option to use the thumbturn unlocking method with the opener. If you operate the deadbolt and it doesn't work, you'll probably break the lock.

Although I could not confirm the existence of the trigger latch while working, I was able to fit the bolt in with an L-shaped pick and unlock it.

There is only a MIWA PATENT carved seal on the front. It turned out that the thumbturn was locked because the automatic locking trigger latch was not working properly. It was improved by removing only the front and spray cleaning it thoroughly.

Although the movement was not perfect, I decided to keep an eye on it.

It seems that replacement parts for the lock case are not available, so if I were to replace the set, I would probably go with the MM type.

The front length is long, 220 mm, and the screw pitch is 160 mm.It's quite large.
