SHIN-NIKKEI gate Replacement with LIXIL replacement due to defective operation of NA type gate lock

"The lever has started spinning idly, so repair or replace it."

Although you have informed us that it is a SHIN-NIKKEI door lock, we will not be able to tell about the symptoms until we see the actual item, so we decided to visit you.

The lever on the road side and the lever on the house side were not linked at all.I thought a screw had come loose, so when I took it apart, I discovered that the symptoms were quite serious. Part of the drive shaft for the link was completely corroded and had come off.

I couldn't find out when the product was manufactured, but even if you could get the same model NA gate lock after it was discontinued, it would be quite expensive (more than 40,000 yen for a set of single locks). It is not practical as a cage replacement.

There is a PDF document at the URL below, so I will leave it here.

SHIN-NIKKEI has been changed to LIXIL, and it seems that the brand name still remains, but I decided to look for a general-purpose replacement lock (arm lock) for LIXIL gates. Additional machining will be required, but it seems like it can be used for door thicknesses up to 40 mm. The hole was covered using an aluminum plate. I chose the colors to match together, but they stand out a little in the sun. The door was installed askew, so it took time to determine the initial positioning and the position of the holes to be machined, so improvements will need to be made in the future.
