SHERLOCK3.LAF, Repair of locking failure due to lock case abnormality

"I can't lock the door with my card key or thumbturn."

Apparently it suddenly became impossible to lock. If the door could not be locked from the inside, it was thought that there was a problem with the case.

When I arrived at the scene and checked, the thumbturn did not move at all. It seems like the cam mechanism is jammed. The front screws were also loose and the deadbolt seemed to be stuck.

During the operation check, I heard a slightly loud sound like something popping. Immediately after that, the deadbolt came out and started working, but what exactly was that sound? This time I was able to improve it by disassembling it and spray cleaning it.

The property is only 15 years old, so it's not that old, but the cam mechanism may have rusted due to condensation.

I was unable to insert the SHERLOCK3 card key all the way in, but this symptom occurs if the cam does not move.

However, if we were to unlock the entrance door in this state, the only option would be to break the lock, which would have been a serious problem. Turning the thumbturn had no effect. Also consider adding vibration.
