WEST916.LDSP, Inspection and repair of lock malfunction

"It doesn't feel like it's locked even if I lock it from the inside."

When you use the thumbturn to lock the door from inside the room, there are times when the door won't lock. What exactly are the symptoms? In most cases, the cause is poor positioning between the deadbolt and the strike, but which one is this time?

I checked on site and found that the thumbturn was loose and not caught in the cam block. The cylinder is BH type. It seems that the set screw is not properly tightened. It must have been installed half-heartedly by some contractor. The installation was incorrectly adjusted.

Once you take it apart, you will notice that the set screw is slightly lifted. Natural phenomena cannot rise to this level. It must have been installed in an incorrect location by the manufacturer. By reassembling it, the set screw on the front was installed correctly without popping out. In the end, there were no abnormalities such as wear or damage on the parts themselves.
