Opera-LSP.USHIN-SHOWA-QDJ695 Inspection and repair of abnormal lock/unlock operation and beep warning sound

"Suddenly abnormal operation and alert sound are heard"

I thought the entire building was locked with OPELO electronic locks, but it turned out to be just one room.

This time it's not an unlocking job, but an inspection and repair job. The thumbturn keeps repeating and the beeping sound keeps going off. Apparently the management company came and inspected the property 5 days ago, but it seems they just replaced the battery and left the property. It seems to be in a mode where the magnetic switch automatically locks with the trigger.

When the door was closed, the positional relationship between the magnet and the magnet switch was max. 10mm, but it was close to the limit. I removed the magnet and simulated operation with the door open, but it did not improve.

Next, I'll disassemble it to see if there's something wrong with the main unit, but I don't like the structure of OPELO. All of them use special screws, so be careful not to lose them (standard screws are not designed to be used). Also, I originally had doubts about the mechanical design, parts design, and base design, but there are some parts that I don't understand, and assembly is so time-consuming that I don't like it.

This time the cause was a broken cable. The cable connecting the drive unit and battery unit was connected to the wrong connector (I don't understand why it was designed this way), and it was pulled so hard that it broke. This is a natural design flaw. Either the main unit or the cable will need to be replaced, but this will be done by the management company, so I can't help it.

The LSP cylinder for locking is also special. Due to the thickness of the numeric keypad unit, it is difficult to use a cylinder with a standard door thickness of DT40. If you're an LA type, there's no problem.

In summary, most defects are due to poor initial installation by the management company.

  • Missing parts that should be installed
  • The spindle that was supposed to adjust the length remains the same.
  • Wrong location of connector to connect
  • Magnet position is different from specifications

Anyway, OPELO repair is a work that is almost in the red considering the time and effort. I'll have to consider this next time.

If you are going to attach a temporary cylinder, it should be on the lower auxiliary lock side, not on the OPELO side, which is difficult to assemble. You can use the standard type, so be careful next time.
