SHOWA 7680KJ rim lock Locking/unlocking failure due to interference with deadbolt due to poor strike position

"Entrance lock/unlock defect inspection"

There were no problems with the cylinder or lock case. It turned out that the position with the strike was poor.

The top of the deadbolt was interfering with the strike. The same goes for the latch bolt. Both the strike and the lock case are fixed types and seem to be non-adjustable.

When I tried to adjust the hinge, there was no room for the tool to be inserted and adjustment was impossible. In order to shift it upward by about 2 mm, it is necessary to expand the strike (toro) hole by about 5 mm and add a tap tap position, but there is no room for additional machining of the tap position.

You may need a speed nut. In any case, it will probably take about 2 hours of processing and adjustment. However, this time we were not able to get the landlord's approval, so we had to put it off.
